The Beginning

The Yellow Dog's Barn was created with the idea that it should be a daycare that we would want to bring our own dogs to. Our staff is carefully selected to provide the best possible care for your dog. They genuinely love dogs and enjoy their work! Each and every one of us makes it top priority to get to know the personalities of all the dogs who come here, so that we can ensure a safe and fun day for all.

Holly Grant, co-owner

Holly Grant, co-owner Holly Grant began her career caring for and learning about animals at the age of 15, working in the kennel at an Animal Hospital in Vermont. Her interest in animal care was further explored as an Animal Science major at The University of Vermont. Before earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, she participated in several internships working as a Veterinary Technician, at The Humane Society of Greater Burlington, and with Therapy Dogs of Vermont. In 2001, Holly moved to the seacoast with her husband, Jarrod, and their yellow lab, Madison. Holly began a dog walking and pet sitting business with the hope of someday expanding to include a dog daycare. With Madison as the inspiration, and after much research and planning, The Yellow Dog’s Barn was created a few years later.  Gracie joined the family in 2008 as The Yellow Dog Junior! null

Office Assistants

Jenny has always loved animals and has had the opportunity to work in dog daycares, grooming, and dog training. She completed an Associate's Degree in Animal Science in 2009 and a Bachelor's in Psychology in 2012 at the University of New Hampshire. She lives in Northwood with her husband Alex, their daughter Kaylee, and their dog Waffle.

Gabby has always been an avid dog lover. When she’s not doing schoolwork for her Psychology program at SNHU, she is likely out hiking or swimming with her 1-year-oldGreat Dane mix Zola. She’s fascinated by behavioral patterns in all live beings, so she’s loved being able to work with dogs while studying human behavior. She hopes to one day have her own counseling practice where she and Zola will help clients grow and heal.

Daycare Staff

Mikaela grew up harboring a fascination for the natural world and all its living things. After a childhood spent exploring the 'wilds' of her MA backyard and trying to memorize (and draw) the faces of as many dog breeds as possible, Mikaela moved to NH and graduated from UNH, where she studied studio art and wildlife ecology. She continues to pursue a passion for all things dog and holds a special interest in canine behavior and training. She lives in Barrington with two dogs and a cat, and spends her spare time exploring the local woods or at the dog park.

Christine grew up loving animals of all kinds! She previously had the opportunity to work for other dog daycares and boarding facilities for several years. After working for her fathers family business for nearly a decade, she ended up back where her true passion lies, which is dogs. She lives in Pittsfield with her husband, their dog, 2 cats, a rabbit, a turtle, and a tortoise. Christine hopes to further her education in animal behavior. In her spare time she loves going on drives with her husband and their dog Herman, nature, and traveling the country with her best friends to see her favorite band.

Olivia always knew she wanted to care for animals after growing up with 4 dogs and 5 cats.  Her special love for dogs brought her to work at her first dog daycare for 3 years and keeps her excited to continue working with them in such a positive setting.  Besides spending most of her time on nature walks with her dog, she also enjoys doodling, making music and aspires to one day be a wildlife videographer. Olivia lives in Deerfield with her best friend Noah, her dog Zedd, and her cat Lyle.

JoAnne Miller, co-owner

JoAnne Miller left a CAM Management (computer-aided manufacturing) position and a 16+ year career in the circuit board industry to join Holly Grant at The Yellow Dog's Barn.

Teri graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1994 where she studied Animal Science along with her other studies. After graduation, she worked for a seacoast veterinarian for 4 years where she learned invaluable experience in the care of all animals. She attended and graduated from the Pedigree School of Grooming in 1996, where she found her true love of the profession.
All of Teri’s shampoos are all natural and pesticide free. Her goal is to make your pets grooming experience as pleasant and stress-free as possible so that your pet will be happy to come back to see her again soon!
